I am thrilled to announce that I have just signed on to create, collaborate and stage a new International Concert Tour featuring the Recording Artist and Broadway Star SIMONE.

SIMONE is her own woman, a singer, songwriter and performer whose ability to transcend genres echoes the tradition of her mother, musical icon and pioneer Nina Simone. Blessed with a rich vocal range, an innate skill for lyrical interpretation and a soul-deep understanding of music as a means of healing, empowerment and celebration, Simone is very much her mother’s daughter, she is most assuredly a multi-talented artist in her own right.

A highly-praised live performer whose impressive resume includes starring roles on Broadway in such acclaimed musicals as Rent and Aida, Simone has developed an exciting and diverse repertoire of pop, soul, jazz, rock and funk, expressed in shows she’s done throughout the world. Simone has been featured at The Sydney Opera House, the Montreaux Jazz Festival, New York’s Lincoln Center, Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl, and the North Sea Jazz Festival.

With a rich heritage to draw from, a wealth of accomplishments and accolades as a Broadway star and live performer and a finely-developed sense of her own unique artistry, Simone is establishing herself as a successful recording artist with the successful release of her CD "SIMONE ON SIMONE" and as an international concert artist of the first order.

Nina Simone was one of my earliest and profound artistic influences - I first saw her when I was 17, I think it was at the Troubador here in Los Angeles - I was mesmerized. I wore out the album "Here Comes The Sun" - Nina knocked me out....she spoke to me deeply at an early age. Nina's music made it ok for me to think the way I thought and to look towards embracing a different artistic approach to my life - she made it ok for us who felt different than the others....to "Do What You Gotta Do"....I was fortunate enough to see her many more times in concert and it was always a religious experience to see her put her spell on those of us lucky enough to be in her prescence.

Now here I am all these years later coming full circle and honored to be working with her daughter SIMONE, who is an extraordinary artist and human being. She is NOT just someone's Daughter, she is on her own a uniquely gifted singer, vocalist, actress, and entertainer.

Do you remember the first time you saw a Picasso or Monet. listened to Edith Piaf or Miles Davis, saw Nureyev or Alvin Ailey dance, read Maya Angelou or Hemingway- there is a magic in that moment of artistic discoivery that opens another part of your spirit.. When I saw Simone at the Catalina Bar and Grill last month - I was simply blown away! For 90 minutes she held the audience in her hand and led them through a journey of spirit and soul, jazz, blues and held us tight to her very essence. She not only sang with a sound and passion that I have rarely experienced, she was funny, touching, revealing and just plain magnificient. She will turn your head and make your feel alive. I am so excited to be working with such an artist as SIMONE.

The Concert is tentatively entitled "I PUT A SPELL ON YOU". Simone and I are now collaborating on what will be a collective musical journey of the spirit and soul.

She is SIMONE and I promise you, once you experience her artistry- your love affair will have just begun.
